Your description of unbroken snow makes me yearn, not for spring, but for snowshoeing. With any luck, I may be able to do that behind your cabin around this time next year …!

Not too early, I don't think. This is the time of year when the yearning really sets in, especially if you've had a few warm days before the snow and cold returned. Here in Northern California, we had weeks of sunshine and warmth. I began to worry, and then the El Nino rains came again and have been with us for almost two weeks now. Thank Providence for that. We need the rain so much. Yet I do yearn for spring sunshine to return.
