Lovely. I've been thinking about and appreciating being outside, not in the dark dark as you describe but still early morning with stars and no one on my neighborhood streets and few lights but the stars and moon--thanks to our new little puppy who insist on these nighttime ventures. The dark outdoors seems like a safe cocoon.

"It’s only in the night that I remember I’m on a planet sailing through a universe of other planets and stars." Gorgeous, thanks Kathy.

This was so beautifully written that I was wowed. Anyone who has ever experienced the splendor of a very dark sky can relate. The stars, the darkness, somehow enrich our souls and reminds us of ancient times and connect us to the universe. I so love these kind of nights that really aren't dark at all but enrich our beings.

Wonderful story with photo illustration. My favorite line, "I’m on a planet sailing through a universe of other planets and stars."
