What a deeply disturbing yet also awe-inspiring meeting of forces, both natural and unnatural. That picture of the valley mist ahead of the cold front rising below the black smoke is amazing.

I agree with your comment-- "it’s a beautiful thing to see, if you don’t think about the acres of forest that are being consumed"--I think humans are drawn to fire. Your photos are beautiful. Hopefully it is out now?

What a very scary thing to witness, especially when one's home is in the wildfire's way. I've had one just north and south of me, around 10 miles or so. Fingers crossed that this one is contained/put out soon. And here's hoping for a very wet winter! Oh how we need it!
