Oh Wow! What a sighting you got! How exhilarating! Lucky Duck!

An amazing and thrilling encounter. A couple of years ago I crossed paths with a black bear while on a bicycle ride at Pelican Lake. Wisconsin. Across the field at my parent's farm a couple weeks ago, their neighbor saw about a 300 lb bear roaming around. Bears show up on the trail cams every once in awhile.

Gosh, Kathy—what a scary thrill! Up here at SMC we're routinely warned about bears, but I have yet to see one on this land. The closest I got to one was in Jamestown, where it was helping itself to the content of the neighbor's bird feeder. I made a complete fool of myself by calling the cops. I don't think I ever lived that down …
